Im trying to find some information on installing a OSX on a pc laptop. I searched the forums and found no information. I may have missed something and if I have please excuse this post. I want to take a OSX image (Lion or leppoard) and install it on a regular PC laptop and be able to access all of the periphial hardware. For example.. CD drive, USB ports etc. Anyone have any experience with this ? I am doing this for a potential client who has never used windows, who is very familure with OSX but has purchased the Asus for cost reasons. Im assuming Ill have to reformat the file system. I have questions concerning drivers. Im really computer savy when it comes to PC and WINDOWS/Linux OS. I know absolutly nothing about OSX. lol.

Ok for starters this is in violation (I believe of Apple's) terms of service at the very least, and possibly illegal?? I am not 100% sure about illegal but I think I would avoid installing this for a client. For one thing it isn't as stable as an apple install (at least that used to be the case), and some features were disabled. if you were doing it for yourself I would play with it. http://www.hackintosh.com/ is one of many sites with instructions on how to do this.

It isn't as easy as you may hope, it will require a boot loader and some duct tape to work.

I would stay away from this request with a 10 foot pole as it will bite you in the end FAST!..

Thanks you for the response and the direction. I had not even thought of the violation or legal aspects of this project. The client ordered the ISO from Apple and its payed for. Being I know nothing about apple, I assumed, and we know what that means :), that I could install the software on any hardware. Thanks again.
