Since this thread surfaced again, I'll give an update to my progress. Things I tried were, ubuntu server configured for pxe, then fog, then ultimate deployment appliance, switched to win2k3 server and tried uda in vmware. Was able to get success with each on some things I needed, but not all. Where I'm at now. Win2k3 server, shared folders for iso's and images. Using make pe3, created a win7 pe disk with custom programs including Acronis True Image Home, and an iso mounting program. All this works great. I will be using sysprepped windows images. The next step is to build a multi boot cd with win7pe, bartpe, etc. I'm interested to hear how other tech's manage this stuff.

Well..initially I wanted to do it but never did. Last week I did it...uff.

1- I got my own menu, I was able to boot Hiren's Boot cd from Pxe but the thing is I did it uploading the entire ISO to memdisk (I think)...so if in a computer with not enough memory it will not work.

2- So then I switched to work on the Fog features , like uploading an image from a Laptop that I have , I installed Windows 7 and sys prep it.

This is an old laptop Thinkpad R50e when I try to uploaded IT DOESNT WORK!!! ----LINUX HELLO.

I tried different kernels on Fog..nothing....It drove me crazy so many hrs trying to use Fog for what it id meant to be used for and it does not work !@#$%^.

So since I was so mad with Fog I stopped working on it...I may try to create a VM and sys prep a Windows 7 on it, and see if I can uploaded...and the see if Fog will push to this to the Thinkpad.

Now with WDS no issues to deploy to any computer.

BTW Fog can scan the disk on the Thinkpad...

Thanks Linux.
