Also, you can use the “history” command to see what commands you use regularly in case you want to look for commonly-used commands.


A couple other command-line tips:

– you can use alt+period to insert the last item on your previous command-line.  So if you type something like “mv /source/file /long/destination/path/” you can then type “cd <alt+period>” to change into the last thing you typed (“/long/destination/path/”).  Saves a bunch of typing.

– you can also use the “fc” command to pull up your $EDITOR and edit the last command-line you issued
