Hi Cody & Door, First of all, I wish to thank you for all the great tips and software recommendations. It has made my life easier.

Next, a conversion success story. My niece just started working for our family business. She asked me about working on her desktop to get it working again. A quick look found it to be infested with Vista Home Starter and two pounds of cat hair. After removing the cat hair, I re-formatted the drive and installed Mint15. She took to it easily and never looked back.

Shortly after that, she acquired a Gateway 1410 netbook with Win 7 starter installed. I immediately dual booted it with Mint15 and she only uses windows for itunes. Although she used to have an iphone, she now has a Razr max and uses it with Mint easily.

Another young person saved from the evil clutches of M$.

Thanks for the work you do.

Teddy

Door- I have Ubuntu 12.XX server, and would like to put a TV tuner card in it. Then I would like to have computers on the network with Win7 Media Center use that tuner. Is this possible? If so, the more detailed the directions the better.

Hello Cody and Door,

I was just listening to episode 129, I am still behind. In that episode you talk about ownCloud. You mentioned that we should stop depending on Google and other large companies for our cloud storage. I don’t know about you guys but I know that the upload speeds on my Internet are way too low to compare you Google Drive speeds. I would be all for using ownCloud but with the upload bandwidth that I have it wouldn’t be worth it. I have Cincinnati Bell Fioptics which is 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up. Just thought it might be worth mentioning. Also OLF was awesome this year was my first time and Door’s talk on DE was great. I am downloading Hybryde now.
