EMAIL (mail@Podnutz.com)

  • Dwain asks what is a good data recovery tool for deleted and reformatted partition, and if he is transferring to a Mac, how to transfer and recognize application, email and browser settings. Steve D recommends GetDataBack for the data recovery. There is some discussion of settings transfer options.
  • Alan follows up on previous listener email question about browsers getting stuck with an error “identifying network”, and provides a solution from support.microsoft.com/kb/915162 — Error Message when you start dhcp client services on a Windows XP-based computer “error 1075”. It is for XP but he says it also works with Windows 7. Steve D’s usual fix for similar problems is to un-install and reinstall the wireless driver or update the driver.  This will erase the wireless pass codes, but can be avoided by using WirlessPassView
