  • Combatting the ever increasing threat from the internet
  • Feeling inadequate in experience, knowledge, understanding of certain aspects of IT
  • Not being able to take a true vacation

  • Wearing all of the business “hats”
  • Worn out of always fixing problems

Success starts with YOU and how YOU take care of yourself.

Exercise – Eat Well – Sleep

Burnout- How to mediate Disaster and Crisis

  • Disaster-Can’t do Business/Immediate Response
  • Crisis-Limits ability to do business/4Hrs
  • Annoyance-Creates Business Inconvenience/1-2 Day
  • Task- Anything that doesn’t fall into the upper 3 on the list

Minimize the above

  • Backups or Alternatives/Extra printers or Hotspots
  • Disaster Planning/Customer Created

Regulation

  • You are not responsible for compliance/ You can assist them in their compliance needs. i.e. Documentation

Customers not taking security seriously

  • Security is up to the customer
  • You can only give them options

Feeling Inadequate

  • If you’re not feeling inadequate you’re not doing anything

Not being able to take a true vacation

  • Where there is a will there is a way to take a vacation/Finding, someone, to cover you while you’re gone/You might have to pay them

Wearing all the Business Hats

  • Standardizing your process and use vendor support
  • Doing too many services making you too busy
  • Don’t let your customers treat you different than other businesses
  • Reach out to other techs.  Build a group.
  • Prepare to be efficient.  Prior Planning/I can’t fix it if I don’t know
  • Policy – If you are closed, we are closed.
  • Not all business is good business
  • Just say no.
