First Tizen Tablet a Quad-Core Powerhouse – The Tizen-based tablet announced this week by Japan-based Shisutena is the first formally announced Tizen device. The surprisingly powerful slate suggests not only that Tizen is about more than just Samsung smartphones, but that the mobile Linux OS is not afraid to go head to head with Android on the high end.
What is exFAT – Microsoft licenses out exFAT file system – Microsoft has announced a new licensing program for its Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) technology. For certain device categories, such as cameras, camcorders, and digital photo frames, the software giant is charging a flat $300,000 license fee, while companies that want to use the format in devices such as phones, PCs, and networks will have to pay a volume-based license fee.

How to Format USB to exFAT in Linux – Today, I’m going to show you how easily we can add full read/write support for exFAT based devices.

What is a Symbolic link – In computing, a symbolic link (also symlink or soft link) is a special type of file that contains a reference to another file or directory in the form of an absolute or relative path and that affects pathname resolution.

Create symlinks in Android – Root Explorer is the ultimate file manager for root users. Access the whole of android’s file system (including the elusive data folder!).

Hi Door, first let me thank you and your team, for encouraging me to finally migrate to Linux. I have used in the past, but had not fully migrated until today. I feel pretty good about it, because here in Mexico piracy rules and I did not want to to be a part of it. My first linux distro was Damn Small Linux back in 2005 since then I have tried many distros but it was complicated since the main OS in Mexico it is Windows, and I wasn’t happy.
I have known about Linux since 2005 but I finally found a distro that suits my needs mainly because I need my podcasts, to burn CDs and DVDs, YouTube videos for the wife and need a distro with all the drivers for my machine. I’m still fairly new to Linux and the command line is something that I have a hard time with. I’m currently using Pear OS 7 and I believe it’s based on DEBIAN and UBUNTU (http://pearlinux.fr/) and so far so good,
I remembered you talking about “remastersys” and I just made a custom installation cd because it is hard to have it in spanish, somehow it gives you some trouble with spanish language support during installation but finally gets it up and running and now I will upload it other people so they don’t have to deal with all of the issues I encountered
Recently I had a need for a cache server, then I remembered a couple of years ago you talked about a glorious thing called PF Sense and now I have implemented PF Sense with a cache server and web filtering and setup a separate server with a lamp stack for some webapps that we use internally along with a strong wi-fi signal and my boss is happy with all of it. I want to thank you for all the hard work you guys put into this. Love the show!
